I won "big" at PKR!

Recently I've discovered an interesting tournament style at PKR. It is called "Double Thru", and the first half of the players double their money, while the rest get nothing. I started to play those kind of tournaments two days ago with $5.5 buy in, at 10 players tables.

The first two tournaments I was the first to get out :( with very unlucky bad beats... like losing on the river with 80% chances to win and so on. Yesterday I've finally make it! I won one of these tournaments and won $10.

After the first hands I was down, on the last place. I was very upset and with the first ace I've pushed all-in and won a big pot. I kept playing and get to the first place, and I even eliminate two opponents. After the first 5 players were out, all of the remaining were in the prize pool with $10 each. So almost everybody pushed all-in the next hand, and I won with an AK. I was lucky to get an A8 the very next hand and won the all-in with the last remaining player, finishing number 1!

This is the mail I've got for wining this tournament :P

LOL, "Fame won't change me"!

Winning on PKR low stakes

Yesterday I sit down at PKR tables again after a time I haven't play poker at all. I decided to play aggressive since last time I tried to wait for good hands to hit I lost. So I joined a table with $10 (a table with big blinds of $0.10) and started to tease the opponents betting or raising very often.

After winning some $8 I left that table and joined another one where players didn't know I want to be very aggressive. After a few hands I went down about half of my stack than make $4 rebuy. I kept playing and still lost some dollars till I went all-in with AK off suit against QQ. I hit a lucky straight on the turn and doubled my stack.

I played about an hour and won like $8, just like Mc Donalds employees :)

With the PKR points earned I bought some extra chip tricks, in fact I managed to learn all the PKR chip tricks. Below is one of them ;)

Slaying Anubis

First of all, Happy New Year 2009!

Yesterday I have entered the Pyramids. I got the key to the Pyramids long time ago from a Tomb Rider Leader that I killed in Alexandria. Now I reinstalled the Voyage Century after my computer crash and looking into my inventory I found that key and I thought it would be cool to go there and kill a few times the ferocious Anubis.

After some easy battles I managed to kill several times Anubis, but he didn't drop anything but his head :) and a Male Exploration Armor that is obviously worthless for me. I was expecting some jewelry, like the Courage Badge, but since now with no luck.

Not anyoane was able to defeat Anubis, as the picture below shows... After entering the second time the Pyramids I found a poor Chevalier laying dead on the floor.

What happened lately

I haven't posted on the blog for a long time, so I'll try to resume the latest news. First of all, I have to mention that the Wrath Of The Lich King took me a lot of time, and I still have to play a lot to reach 80. I'm 75 at the moment, so I'm half way to 80.

In the meanwhile, I have discovered another very cool game, this time a browser game. It is called The West and I like it very much. You have your own character and try to develop it be able to do better jobs and fight better in duels. I like the duels a lot, because I can take money from my opponents and get the well deserved reputation :)

That's all for now, but I'll try to keep you updated more often. And Happy Holidays!

Club PKR

This week I managed to achieve member status in Club PKR, a recent addition to the poker game I play. There are some cool benefits for being a member of this elitist club.

I already started to play the free tournament tickets I've been granted. I was about to get in the top 20 in one of the tourneys, but an unlucky river got me out of the game. I still have some tickets to play, and I hope next time I'll get more lucky.

Oh! And here's a new chip trick I recently learned while I was a sorceress... The Snake Charmer :)

Quite busy lately

I've been quite busy lately, and didn't have much time to write on this little blog. The most notable thing that happened during this time is the launch of Deal Or No Deal at PKR. My favorite poker room launched a very cool game, that can be played directly from the poker client. It is a 3D version of the TV show Deal Or No Deal with Noel Edmonds. I like the game, and even managed to win a few bucks there :)

If you want to try it for yourself, download PKR using this link and install the game. After automatically getting the latest updates you will be able to play the game, and feel the thrill of being in the middle of a TV show! You should also use the bonus code wen when registering, to get a nice 100% up to $600 bonus at your first deposit.

I have respecced to Arcane/Fire

I was getting bored of my Frost specialization, and I decided to make a change. It is the second time I change my talents, so it was very cheap. Since I've been Fire and then Frost, the obvious option was to go Arcane. After trying a few different talent combinations, I decided to get "Slow" too, and have only a few talents in the Fire tree, like Pyroblast.

What I like about this new talent combination is the possibility of having huge crits with improved criticals, +30% spell damage activated, Pyroblast and ignition. And the instant Pyroblast once every 3 minutes rocks too. I scored a 4k critical on a mob, and considering the ignition and the fire damage over time the total damage of the spell was almost 6k. This is the most powerful hit I ever scored.

I think I'll keep this talents until the expansion, when I'll probably go back to Fire talents for easier questing.

I got the epic griffin!

I got it! Here are some pics of me riding this sexy blue griffin :)

My WOW business is running smooth - soon I'll have the epic griffin

Soon I'm going to buy the much desired epic griffin! My WOW business is doing extremely well, and I managed to get from about 800 gold to 5000 in about three months without leaving the capital cities. My income came from three sources:

Transmutations - this is the main source of the income. I'm doing one daily transmutation of Primal Might. I get the mats from the AH for about 90 gold, and I usually sell the Primal Might for 140 gold. This gives me about 40 gold per transmutation after AH fees. The cool thing is that sometimes I get two Primal Mights because of my master transmuter skill. In such event, I get 180 gold in one day!

The second source of income is the AH trading. I'm specialized in trading Arcane Tomes. I buy them for no more than 12 gold and sell them for 17 gold. This way I get 5 gold per Tome, and sometimes even more. Sometimes i have a pretty large stock of Arcane Tomes, but when they sell I get nice amounts of gold.

The last source of gold is the daily battleground. I'm trying to do the daily BG every day. This will give me an additional 11 gold per day.

This is how I managed to earn the desired gold without farming or buying gold. After I'll get to 6000 gold I'll buy the epic griffin, and I'll upload some screenshots with it.

Out for a small vacation

I'll be off for a few days because it's May 1st tomorrow and I'm going out of town. I'm anxious to go and have a little fun! I'll be back on 4th, and I hope this little trip will be very relaxing. Cya :D

Some nice animal videos

I have found some very nice clips on youtube, and I want to share this cute videos with you.

Here is a cat and a squirrel:

Lucky transmutation

Today I got a very lucky transmutation at WOW. I'm doing one transmutation daily (because of the cooldown), and sell it on the AH. Basically I'm buying one piece of Primal Water, Earth, Air, Mana and Fire, and transmute them into one Primal Might. While the mats cost me around 100 gold, I'm usually selling the Primal Might with 140 gold, which gets me a nice profit of about 35 gold per day after deducting the auction house fees.

I'm a transmutation master, so I have a small chance to get more Primal Mights when I make a transmutation. This chance is very small, but today I was lucky and got two pieces of Primal Might. Yummy! That's 135 gold more profit! This transmutation business can be very good if you have some luck :)

In fact, anything went smooth in World of Warcraft today for me. The daily pvp quest was won from the first try, although Arathi Basin is usually won by the horde on my server.

Defending a city at VC

Yesterday was a big event at Voyage Century. I participated at the defense of Cape Town. When I was preparing to set sail towards Seville I noticed a big group of people in the docks. I asked them what's going on and they said the city is going to be attacked. I joined the defense, lead by the guild named Wasabi, the ruler of Cape Town.

In the offshore of the city were lots of ships waiting for the enemy. After 10-20 minutes, the first enemy ships arrived. I tried to fight, but I was sunk from one blow by the attacking guild leader. However, the other defenders were strong and fought bravely to defend the city. I joined the Barbette for the land fight, and looked for the enemy. A group of people found the enemy guild leader and overpowered her.

The battle continued for a while, although I missed the main fights. News from the front were coming that the enemies are prepared to attack from their mothership, but eventually they were defeated. Here is a gallery of screenshots I took from the first city siege I've witnessed.

A lot of bad luck

I'm really pissed off... I had an awful day at PKR. I sat down at a table with 10$ and lost all my money, because of bad luck. The first starting hands were all trash cards. I got three times in a row 96 off suited.

Again and again, trash cards. About 20 minutes of play, and still didn't got any playable hand.

In order to avoid being labeled as a rock I tried some bluffs with weak cards. This way I managed to secure my stack covering the cost of the blinds. My first showdown was won on a lucky river, but with a small pot.
