Share Files on LinkedIn I am a recruiter and spend a lot of my time in searching professionals on LinkedIn. Today while conducting search on LinkedIn I came across a great application Box.net files. I always used to wonder earlier how to make my connections know about the job requirements I was working on in order to get some responses through them. It was impossible to put description in the “What are you working on now?” section due to lack of word limit it has. But, Box.net application solved my problem.
This application allows me to upload number of job descriptions which can be easily downloadable by other parties online. These files are visible on my profile page. This increases the reach of job requirements and it is as good as advertising the requirement. I am not sure about the results I may get through this as it has been only one day I have added this application to my profile but it indeed seems to be a great idea to upload these job descriptions on my LinkedIn profile.
It is easy to upload and share word document, excel sheet, powerpoint presentation, images etc. on box.net files application.
Steps to add Box.net application to the LinkedIn profile:
After you log on to your LinkedIn profile, click on the option of “Applications” on the left side of the page.
Click on “Box.net files” followed by “add application”. This will add this application on your home page and profile.
Clicking on the Box.net will lead you to the following page. You will see an option on the right side “add application”.
This is how application will look on your LinkedIn profile page. Click on “Menu” to select your options and to upload new files.
Click on the uploaded file to get more options to be performed as per your requirement. Through this option, files are easily transferred and shared with your selected connections.
What all I have mentioned above is my expereicne of first day using Box.net files. I am sure there would be more which can be explored while using the application.
Blogs have become famous in corporate world. Every business is creating blog/s for various purposes. A blog for a company is much more different from a personal blog and from a website. Therefore, while creating a corporate blog some points should be kept in mind because a slight mistake can ruin it all. While I am creating a blog for my employer, I just thought to jot down points which could be of some help.
Before you start creating a blog, the purpose to launching a blog should be known. This would help in writing content and market the blog to generate more and relevant traffic.
Keeping your readers on mind is very important as content will be written for them.
Correct layout of the whole web page is important which should be organized.
Desinging a correct header is again very important.
The kind of widgets which should be up on the blog should be decided carefully. Unnecessary widgets should be avoided.
Content should be such which is helpful for your readers. Posting news and praise about the company won't help. Remember blog is different from your website.
Adding links of some related and similar blogs will also help.
Employees of the company are best people who can write content for the company's blog.
Some slideshow of employees pictures on the blog will be a good idea too.
A corporate blog should not look monotonous as some fun elements can be added. This could include experiences of employees.
Content should be updated regularly.
Your readers may want to come back if they enjoy the current posts and that's why what we are posting is very important.
These are the tips which are required at the initial stage of creating a corporate blog. While I am working on the corporate blog and will be able to write new things based on my experience, I hope tips mentioned above are of some help.

Clicking on the widget will take people to your web page/ blog.

I was looking for a website which could help me inpronouncing the words and names of in various other languages as well as English.
Forvo helps me in learning the pronunciation and meaning of words and names in 200 languages.
PureText Everyday dealing with number of word documents at the work. Formatting these word documents is time consuming. PureText makes sure that if you copy and paste content to a word doc, the content is pasted with similar font face, font style (bold, italics, etc.), font color, paragraph styles (left/right/center aligned), margins, character spacing, bullets, subscript, superscript, tables, charts, pictures, embedded objects, etc. However, it does not modify the actual text. Content should be pasted with keys - Ctrl+V.
E.g. if you have a paragraph pasted in word doc. with font-Arial (10) and you copy some more content from any other document with font-Times Roman(12), when you paste this content, PureText will automatically convert the Times Roman in Aria (10).
It wil be saved on the system ina zip file. Right click on the zip folder and select Extract Here. Now you can run PureText by doule clicking on the downloaded software. After running PureText.exe, you will see a "PT" tray icon appear near the clock on your task bar.
I came across this website years ago and been using it. But most of my colleagues don't know about this great tool, so just thought to post about it on my blog. As the title says,"chat online without installing messengers". Yes, this is possible with this website.
You just have to login with your relevant ID and you are present online to chat with your friends. Now it is useful when you don't have time to install yahoo, msn or gtalk messengers and urgently have to catch up somebody online. You can login on to Yahoo, Gtalk, MSN & AOL messenger in an instant. Goo dnew is that you need not to sign up on meebo or join it in order to log on to any of earlier mentioned messengers. So try it next time you urgently have to talk to you loved ones urgently and you don't have instant messengers installed.....
Other great option from Google - Google Docs. This is a Web based Word Processor, spread sheet and presentation application. It allows users to create & edit documents online while colaaborating in real time with other Users. Users can create dosuments from basic documents from scratch ans also use templates. Documents can be created making bulleted lists, sorting by columns, adding tables, images, comments, formulas, changing fonts and much more.Documents can also be segregated by creating different folders. Files already existing in the system can easily be uploaded to Google Docs. Types of files which can be uploaded are HTML files, plain text (.txt), Microsoft Word (.doc), Rich Text (.rtf), OpenDocument Text (.odt), Microsoft Excel (.xls), (.sxw), Comma Separated Value (.csv), OpenDocument Spreadsheet (.ods), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pps) and PDF files. Alongwith these I also tried to upload images and undoubetedly I was successful in uploading images. Sized of file/s to e uploaded varies from type to type. i.e. Documents (up to 500KB), Presentations (up to 10MB from your computer, 2MB from the web, 500KB via email), Spreadsheets (up to 1MB) and PDF Files (up to 10MB from your computer, 2MB from the web). Toolbar button allows users to customize the doc.
