Water Ski Groom Arrival

Adventure and Surprise are Rene’s middle names! He was always going to make a grand arrival at the wedding, but no-one expected him to come on a wake board! Martine’s arrival drew an equal number of ooooo’s and aaaah’s from the crowd. See more photos below.

Apart from being a fantastic wedding venue, the guys at Mofam also run a water ski school here on the Palmiet river. See more about this on their website

30 Kids at a wedding!

“Did you really give this enough thought??”…. was mulling through my head when Rene & Martine first told me that no less than 30 kids would be attending their wedding. But they did think it through… and that is what made this wedding a huge success and one of my top 5 weddings ever shot!
The secret formula:
- Get a child friendly wedding venue – Bingo – Mofam River Lodge near Elgin.
- Entertainment is crucial – Hire a petting zoo, a clown, a puppet show and plenty of toys.
- Make sure their sleeping spot is very close – in this case the Mofam cottages just 30 meters away!
- On the day, be chilled and relaxed and make sure your schedule is very flexible.
This wedding was full of surprises. Tomorrow we will do a blog post about the special way in which the bride and groom arrived at the ceremony – Don’t miss this!

Colourful Kalk Bay

For some reason the Blog devils corrupted Rouan & Marinique’s E-session in Kalk Bay we did a few weeks ago. Here it is again.
It was so refreshing and inspiring to walk around this quaint little harbour town while doing the shoot. Rumour has it that up to about 20 years ago, Kalk Bay was a real dump and then the artist community moved in. Nowadays it is totally transformed to a bustling little town with very interesting nooks and crannies and hidden alley ways where you will discover the most interesting clothing boutiques, secondhand stores, art galleries and cosy coffee shops!
