Although Taufik Hidayat becomes a pro badminton player, but he is not yet retired from badminton game. His age is only 27 years old and still get the respect from top badminton players. Taufik Hidayat still has the hunger to win badminton trophies, especially All England Open Badminton Championship, which is the only badminton title he has never won. Taufik Hidayat decision to become a professional badminton game player was a surprise for me. In short term, not good for national badminton team, but in the long term, it would be good for us. Taufik Hidayat Win Macau Open 2008
Who won Macau Open Badminton Championship 2008 ?
the winner is Taufik Hidayat. Yes, finally my favorite badminton player won a trophy after a bad performance in 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Taufik Hidayat beat Lee Chong Wei with 21-19 21-15. This result was a surprise for two reasons:
- Taufik Hidayat performances are not good this year
- Lee Chong Wei ranking is higher than Taufik Hidayat ranking
Hopefully, this match result would postpone Taufik Hidayat retirement plan, because he is still number one Indonesia's badminton player.
Beijing Olympic Gold Medal for Badminton Team
Finally, the first Beijing Olympic gold medal for Indonesia's badminton team. This first Olympic gold was won by Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan. They won against badminton men's doubles from China, Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng, with rubber set 12-21 21-11 21-16. What a fantastic performance by world number one in badminton men's doubles.

If Uber Cup is for women, Thomas Cup is World Men's Team Championships. If China badminton team has dominated the Uber Cup but for Thomas Cup, it is belong to Indonesia badminton team. Indonesia has won thirteen Thomas Cup titles and China is only six titles.

Indonesian badminton team has done a good job and the result is All Indonesian Finals in mixed double in Badminton 2008 Asia Championship in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. All Indonesian Finals will be between Nova/Lilyana and Flandy/Vita Marissa. Well done guys and hopefully i would hear All Indonesian Finals more often in the future.

Astec VS Yonex Badminton Racket
Astec is the brand of Alan Budikusuma and Susi Susanti technology. What is the difference between Astec and Yonex ? is it the quality ? no, i think it's the same, so what is it ? the difference is the brand.
Today i was looking for a new badminton racket but i want to buy it with a certain colour. Yonex rackets don't have that colour but Astec rackets have. When i saw the price, i was shocked, the price was IDR 845,000 . Wow it's so expensive , but i think my opinion is not based on the quality but based on the brand. Because i was not familiar with the Astec brand, so i thought that Astec racket was expensive.
So the bottom line is Brand is very important.
My Badminton Racket is Yonex
My Badminton racket is Carbonex 8 Full Carbon Yonex. This badminton racket is my first racket. I bought this badminton racket about ten years ago. Although my badminton racket is kinda old but i still like it. The style is not old fashion, the string is good, and the grip is still in good condition. The colour of my badminton racket is combinations of yellow, black, white, and bronze.

Taufik Hidayat is My Favourite Badminton player
For me, Taufik Hidayat is still my favourite badminton player in the world. I have three main reasons :
- Taufik Hidayat is from Indonesia ( my country )
- Taufik Hidayat is a world class badminton player
- Taufik Hidayat is the typical badminton players that i like. I like badminton players that when he was an unknown young player, he could beat every body's expectations to become a world class badminton player.
