Combat Arms : New Years Update!
Ok guys Nexon had done it again with ANOTHER update to please everyone followed with the New Year!
“Happy 2009, soldiers, and welcome to the start of a new year for COMBAT ARMS! The holidays may be over, but the war goes on! Winter is still here, so for the first January content update, we’ve got a frost-bitten new game mode called Snowball Fight just for the season. We’ve also got two new rank weapons to complement the veteran soldier’s arsenal.
New Winter Event Game Mode: Snowball Fight (available for a limited time only, from 1/14 – 3/18)
We’ve got a brand new way team-based game mode that gives “killing in cold blood” a whole new meaning. In “Snowball Fight”, you and your squadmates will arm yourself with specialized snowball weapons to freeze the enemy. Frozen players cannot move and will begin calling to their teammates for help. If you get to them first, take out your shovel and smash them to pieces to perform an Ice Crush! An Ice Crush is the only way to kill your enemy and reduce the enemy’s spawn pool.
You can also use your shovel to release your frozen teammates from the ice before they get smashed by an enemy shovel. Unfrozen teammates will be able to return to the fight without using up a respawn for their team. Remember, all players on your team share the same respawn pool… and the more you save your fellow teammates, the more likely it is that they’ll be there to save you! Saving a frozen teammate will also restore a small amount of your own HP.
Winning a Snowball Fight
Each team has its own respawn pool with a limited number of respawns for all team members. Every kill via an Ice Crush reduces the other team’s respawn pool by 1. If your team’s respawn pool reaches zero, no one else on your team will be able to respawn. To win, your team must reduce the other team’s respawn pool to zero and then crush all remaining enemy combatants.
This event will only be available during the winter months so play before the snow melts!

Combat Arms : Sound Problem
Steps to Creating A Succesful Clan
Ok everyone knows games usually have team play. In fact team play is the leading online mode in all of online play. Sometimes its team vs team, or maybe even team vs team vs team, theres all types of variations. Now what makes a good team? Communication? Morale? Well if you said all of them your right. Teamwork is a combination of those and a few other things. Now when playing in a team match you are usually paired up with other random teammates and most of the time its hard to establish a good morale and communication when you’ve never played with them and don’t really understand each others style. Now what a clan does is it pairs up a few players who practiced and understand exactly how each other communicate and work together. Don’t get me wrong though a clan is no easy thing, it requires mass amounts of time and dedication. So there are a few things required to make a clan.
#1 ~ Website. Every clan needs a website. I know your frightened already but don’t be, now a days a website has become so simple to create thanks to our friends over at Freewebs. Freewebs is very easy to use and has a great community that can answer any questions you have. Now your wondering what should I include on my website? Well start with a homepage, here make sure to keep it updated everyday or so with any news you have involving the clan, someone joined the clan? match on Saturday? practiced canceled Thursday? Stuff like that, will really help you organize and keep your clan under control, as well as make the members really feel as if there connected which as a member of a clan is a huge thing. Next I would include a roster page, just a list of everyone in the clan with a little bio under it, its nice to see yourself apart of something nice. After that I would keep a Matches page, just basically keep an updated list of all previous and upcoming matches. Rest is pretty much up to you! ( Guide to creating a clan site with Freewebs below…. )
#2 ~ Recruitment. One of the most important things everyone understand is there is a difference between Quality & Quantity. A clan is not really looking for 100 mediocre players but 10 great players that really understand each other, and play together well. So recruitment is step 2 and well there is no right way to recruit. There is a wrong way to recruit though and thats inviting anyone and everyone into the clan. Just when recruiting make sure you and whoever your recruiting and can play together well as well as make sure he can play well with the other teammates.
#3 ~ Practice. I’d say the most important part of a clan. When you go into a clan match and you guys smash the other clan theres no other feeling like it and you’ll know why all that practice paid off. So as far as practice goes, I’d suggest practice two or three times depending on how much time everyone in your clan can devote to the clan as well as how competitive your clan plans to be. But just make sure your clan has a few practices every week and take note of who shows and who doesn’t, cause no matter how good they are or how much you like them if they don’t show for practice there dead weight to the clan.
#4 ~ Matches. Now luckily we are fortunate enough to have Gamebattles as well as MLG. Gamebattles is where most clans begin their clan, a ladder where players can form a team for free and battle anyone if their specific ladder. At the end of the season top teams goto the playoffs and compete for some pretty nice prizes. MLG on the other hand is more proffesional, you have probably heard of them from watching their Halo 3 ladders, but anyway they offer ladders with high cash prizes but cost credits to join. Credits are purchased through mlg.( Prizes vary from MLG credits to thousands of dollars of cash. ) So definitely get registered there and take a shot at the ladders and try and get your name around!
#5 ~ Sponsorship. Ok this step is not going to take account for a while but I though I’d just skim the surface. Well sponsorship is when a company gaming or not sponsors your team and usually provides your team with something. Some sponsors give equipment, some pay for credits for events, etc. Companys like to sponsor teams because when your team goes to events and what not the sponsor will have their logo on your team shirt and well when you win ths more publicity for them. So don’t just throw together some players make site and get a name and expect to get a sponsor. Getting a sponsor is hard work and what there looking for is a good team with a good reputation that is going to represent their company.
So I really hope this article has helped you along the process of creating your clan and getting some members and starting to praticipate in ladders. If you need help making a freewebs clan website just leave me a comment and if I get a few people asking for a guide I’ll happily create an intensive guide on making one! Thanks everyone for reading the article and I really hope it helped!

Combat Arms : 12/16/08 Huge Update!
Alright readers well our friends over at Nexon have a major update including, new game mode, plenty of new maps, new features and a few fixes! So heres the details I hope you like!
“
Happy Holidays, soldiers! With the 12/16 patch for December, we’ve got quite a big bag of Christmas goodies for you! It’s a frenetic game of cat and mouse that turns into a sudden death match of many versus an 800-lb. gorilla with the new game mode “Spy Hunt”! We’ve added female base characters to the mix of soldiers to choose from when you start an account, as well as two new “hidden” characters! You can now send Black Market items as gifts to fellow combatants – nothing says you care like a gold-plated AK or a deadly mercenary!
New Game Mode: Spy Hunt
Our new game mode is finally here! After some additional time in development, the originally announced “Bounty Hunter” mode has evolved into “Spy Hunt”! In this mode, players must compete with all other players to be the first to collect 3 Intel Cases scattered through the map and become the Super Spy. As the Super Spy, it’s one versus all as the Super Spy must race to upload the completed Intel at the Spy Transmitter while all other players stand in his way!
Each game of Spy Hunt has two phases. In the first, all players start on the Mercenary team and scramble to collect all 3 Intel Cases that are distributed throughout the level. Once a player picks up an Intel Case, he/she becomes a Spy. Mercenary players can also hunt down and kill Spies to take the Intel they’re carrying. Players who are Spies will no longer be able to see their former Mercenary teammates hunting them, but can see the location of other enemy Spies. Spies that are killed will drop their Intel case and respawn back as a Mercenary.
Once one Spy collects all 3 Intel Cases, he/she becomes the Super Spy and the game enters Sudden Death (no respawns)! As the Super Spy, you’ll have a new mission – and gain access to the M134 Minigun, the M136 Rocket Launcher, and the RMS12 Flamethrower! All other players must work together to take down the ultra-powerful Super Spy before he/she can upload the stolen intel at the Spy Transmitter.
