The navigation tabs
I always carry a notebook with me. When I need to write down something, I usually do it on a random page that I can never find again. I am now introducing tabs to help me organise it.

The skirt
I’m taking inspiration from this one from a grass skirt. Newspaper is almost grass anyway, right?

The painting
If you’re not interested in long lasting results, newsprint can be used as a base for watercolour painting. In time though, the acid in the paper will change the colours. It’s also quite fragile.
I call my masterpiece “Leftover Paint After Putting a Union Jack on My Hat”.

The candle stabiliser
This could be a unique situation, but someone might find it useful so here it is. Had a pot that I wanted to put candles in. The pot was too wide, the candles half fell out. Used bits of newspaper inside the pot to keep the candles steady.
The Ascot hat
Yes, you can turn a papier-mached balloon into an Ascot hat, if by Ascot hat you mean silly, over-decorated, impractical head gear.
My task was to create a costume to represent the UK at a Eurovision party. I gathered a football, a beer can, a few toys and a can of spam and stuck them all [...]
The plastic cup cozy
Holding a plastic cup full of hot tea tends to be difficult. Protect your hands with a layer of insulating newspaper.
Start with a long strip of paper a bit wider than three fingers. Roll it so it fits tightly around the wider part of the cup, fold the edges in to keep it from spreading [...]
The cat pad
Ending the objects-for-the-cat trilogy today is something the cat discovered by himself. If you happen to leave a newspaper on the floor, the cat will sit on it and enjoy it, maybe even more than ellaborate toys.
The cat toy
After last week's failed attempt to impress the cat, I decided to try again, this time with a newspaper, catnip and string toy.
The litter box (untested!)
It sounds good in theory. Mix shredded newspaper with the sand and get a litter box that's twice as full. It's also what inspired the name of this blog, over at Yesterday's News.
The Easter rabbit
Eggs and rabbits go together during Easter like pancakes and ham (no, really), and they can even be combined into one eggrabbit-decoration-thing made out of newspapers.
