Fingerless Gloves and Scarf
Finished my first fingerless gloves pattern.  I couldn't figure out the first pattern so I went to another and combined both to come up with the gloves in pic.  The scarf is the same pattern called One Skein Scarf  by Denise Cozzitorto I found on Ravelry.com.

A Few More Crochet Projects Finished!
This is a cute Hat and Scarf set I made for my baby Danielle.  The details and patterns for the hat and scarf are in the below posts.

This is the hat I made for Danielle .  The name of the pattern is called Puffy Slouchy Hat and is found on a cute website called Crafty Pants.

This is the scarf I made for Danielle to go with the hat above.
The pattern used is called One Skein Scarf designed by Denise Cozzitorto originally found on one of my favorite crochet sites Ravelry. The pattern is found here.

This scarf is called Easy Lacy Shells Scarf by designed by Sandi Marshall I found on Ravelry website. Pattern for this pretty scarf can be found here.

Camo Scarf using the great One Skein Scarf pattern Designed by Denise Cozzitorto originally found on one of my favorite crochet sites Ravelry .  I used Red Heart Camo yarn.

Another Lap Throw using Homespun Yarns by Lion Brand. I Like the colors that Homespun has, as well as how quickly you can get a project done with them.  I don't recall what pattern.

Ferry Ride to the Pumpkin Patch - Girls Day Out
Danielle and Brittany came for their college break from Liberty University - so we took a day and hopped the Jamestown- Scotland Ferry  across the James River to Surry to go pumpkin picking at College Run Farms to their pumpkin patch - it's the same place we go to pick strawberries in the summer.
It was beautiful weather and a great day with the girls.

Danielle at Liberty U
These are new pics of our baby at Liberty University with her leadership team. We are so proud of her!

Great Day at BG -Wild Days!
Here is a slide of some of the pictures that mostly Darryl shot yesterday.  He took some beautiful pictures of the various birds we saw at Busch Gardens Wild Days and the rest are just random shots of the park until he ran out of battery. We had a wonderful time together.

Have a Wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
To everyone who has off with family and friends and to those who continue to labor over the Labor Day Weekend - Have a good one!

And remember as we labor through the year that Jesus still has the best remedy for weariness.

Matthew 11:28-30
28“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30 “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Shawl is Finished!
Well I'm done- and I really like how the colors turned out and how soft the Homespun brand yarn is. I will definitely be using the pattern and yarn again. - Ruth

New Project Started
I am starting a new shawl - not done yet but I'll let you know how it goes.
Love the yarn colors in this one. -Ruth

Danielle's Camo Blanket is DONE!
This is the very first project I crocheted. It was a blanket that Danielle wanted me to do for her - she picked the color and it turned out to be almost too big of a project for me- I felt myself wanting to quit because it was so overwhelming at times- But patience payed off - it is done!
A free pattern for the squares used in this blanket can be found at this wonderful blog called do you mind if i knit. -Ruth

Another Finished Project
I did this project for Danielle as a shawl she can use at school on those cold nights at Liberty.
It was a fairly easy project which is found on the Lion Brand Website - Prayer Shawl. -Ruth

Surprise Discovery - Cape Charles, Virginia
We discovered Cape Charles, Virginia recently. It is a quaint beach town just across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It has a sort of Norman Rockwellish feel with victorian houses and shops.

We went to the beach near the fishing pier. We saw some guys "bottle fishing." They wrapped fishing line around a bottle and used it instead of a rod.

It was a very nice surprise discovery and will definitely be a place we visit again. -Darryl & Ruth
