i need some help...+ small haul
Yipee!

Yesterday, "Kuya" Air 21 arrived to deliver a package. It's what i bought from one of my favorite E-bay seller~duchessac. She sells cosmetics & dresses. Most are used but it's ok with me because i get to test imported products for a fraction of the price.

After all im frugal & will not willingly let go of my hard-earned money for something that i'm not sure will even work on me...hehe...im pretty sure you will agree with me on that score, right?

I admit that i am always on the lookout for blogsales since i get to buy stuff cheaper & since we all are beauty bloggers we know how to take care of our cosmetics, right? plus the fact that there are also good brands out there that we don't to spend a lot of money on...although im guilty of splurging out too...(-__-") but not that much!

Anyways, i bought
  • MAC Quick Frost pigment
  • Benefit Dr. Feelgood
  • & she included a freebie! yay for that! a pair of hoop earrings
This is my first MAC pigment. I believe that when it comes to pigments there's not much difference at all from high-end brands to cheap ones. I have NYX Ultra Pearl Mania & they are pigmented too! I have tried Careline Loose Eyeshadow & i also love them!

Going back, it's a part of the LE Rushmetal Collection last July 2007

Chunky?

Anyhow, the container is huge! I know for a fact that i won't be able to finish this. This is how it looked like

See how full the container is?

Then this is a swatch of it
It's not exactly a white shimmer oppose to what you can see on the container, but it's a light cream that's very sheer & shimmery. It almost has no pigmentation at all! Too bad that you can't see the green shimmers which makes it so pretty!

It's a great highlighter & also as an all-over color. It will be great to use on your decolletage if you are going on a night out.

As for me, i think i'll be mostly mixing this on a primer to have a shimmery base. Since i have the 88 matte & satin, this would definitely put the much needed shimmer on my colors if i would choose to make a shimmery look!

As for the Benefit Dr Feelgood, i'll keep it first because i'll doing a review on it sometime. it will take weeks though.

I am still waiting for another package, i already bought one of the local Obagi that i heard so much about. I hope it will really help me in my acne. i actually can't wait to try it. Now, im deep cleaning my face so that when i use it it would sink right in my skin.

Now, i have a little question for you,ladies...
Some of you might have tried using a sealant already. What eyeliner/make-up sealant have you tried? I just bought Shelaq a couple of days ago & i actually don't know what to expect. Now don't go into the "Stupid girl! buying things you don't know about..." hehehe...I have an idea how it does work, but i think i just don't see beauty bloggers blogging about it that's why it got me so curious.

Another one...i'm planning to get a parfum for my bf this christmas. I just don't know what..I don't want to drag him in the mall just to go sniff at testers because if we do he would already have an idea what i would give which would just kill the surprise. Any suggestions for me,ladies?

Im thinking of either Paco Rabanne Pour Homme or Burberry... (-__-")

I know for a fact that he loves the one that i gave him before...the Andy Warhol, but i can't find it here in the Philippines...ekkk!
Help me!

Will update you on the local obagi after i have really tested it out.

Have a great day,hunnies!

eyelook: gradient purple
Another series for my gradient eyelook...

Oh, you might ask why i use 'eyelook' as the tag..It's just that i want to be different. Most use "EOTD", i just want to have my own. Anyways, it's not like i always do eye make-ups. I only do it when i feel like it. I only do simple make-up when i go out. So, don't be confused when you see 'eyelook' on my labels,ok?

Plus, for the most posts on my eyelook, i just focus on the eye area. It's because i mostly experiment on color combination after my work is done. I don't want to apply any face make-up at night as much as possible.

So, this time, it would be purple. I think most girls favor purple. This is the look that we are going for:

The pop of blue compliments the look just so to brighten it up instead of the usual black.

For those who are familiar with how i do my gradient look, it's just the same. I used my 88 matte & satin palette. I numbered the colors that i used.

As for the inner corner of my eye, i used NYX White Pearl. Just use any shimmery/satin eyeshadow so to open up your eyes.

dupe alert: for those who have access to Careline Loose Eyeshadow (a Philippine brand), i think it can be a good dupe for NYX White Pearl. I have it before, but i can't find it now. I'll confirm it once i have seen/bought Careline eyeshadow again,ok? But based on what i remember, it is!
(^_^)/

Now, on to the tutorial:
  • Line the colors like so (refer to the colors that i used on the palette.
  • Blend numbers 1& 2...then 3 & 4
  • When the 2 are well blended out, then you can now blend the 2 colors together. I'll be saying in advance why i have to do it this way. I do them separately because i want the colors to be well blended together. I don't want to see any streak of un-blended colors.
  • For those who have a wide crease, feel free to darken it by applying a darker shadow at the area that i pointed out on the pic above. I just don't darken my crease because i have a small eye. If i do so, it just closed my eyes all the more.
  • Don't forget to bring the colors down the lower lash line.

Fix your brows. Highlight the brow area using your favorite highlighter. Line your upper lash line using your favorite liner. I only have a black liner, but since i want a pop of color, i just made my own liner. Finish it all off by curling your lashes & applying mascara.

I just used petroleum jelly & a blue-green shimmer shadow. I apply the petroleum jelly first on my lash line, you can use chapstick. It will just serve as a sticky base so that the shadow would stick. Then apply the color on the area where you apply the chapstick. Press it a bit hard just so that the colors won't fall.

note:
It's not advisable to do this if you have a monolid. You don't want the shadow liner to stick on your lids. Now, if you have an eye sealant, then that's a different story. For those that have deep set eyes, then feel free to make your very own liner. It would save you a lot of bucks & the possibility is endless!

Let's do a little dance for that! whoopee!
<(^_^<) - shake it to the right!
<( ^_^ )> - jump up
(>^_^)> - now bring it to the left!

wooh! we all wanted to save money, right?
*looks at the clock*
Oh! it's already 1:26Am...time to sleep & not dance
*clears throat*
sorry about that..blame it on the sugar rush & was listening to pop songs..

Anyway, this is how it would look like afterward
Whoopee!

The numbers of my eyelook is getting bigger little by little..lol! As what you notice, im not much into doing eye make-up. But i'll try to make some because that's what some suggested.

For those who have not yet joined my giveaway, don't forget to join. Link is on the sidebar

Have a nice day,girls!

ps:
after watching Lady Gaga's Bad Romance vid, im hooked!I find Lady Gaga a very interesting artist! She has a certain edge that no other has. One of a kind!
I can't stop watching.
@_@

On a beauty level, I'm more fascinated with how her eye make-up was done with her on the bath tub. Her eyes look so large like a doll-eye. Anyone knows how to do that? I know that i'll be seeing some youtube gurus doing that makeup. I can't wait! This is also the first time that i get to clearly see her face with a simple makeup.

You have to watch it if you haven't yet.

Mascara Review: Mac Zoom Lash vs Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eyes
*A lengthy introduction..hehe

Since im an eye make-up lover, mascara is a product that i can't do without. On my hunt for a good mascara, im lucky to try out Maybelline Lash Stylist which is the first ever mascara that really WOW-ed me when i first tried it....Why so?

First off, before i tried it, i used to like:
  • Covergirl Lashblast Waterproof- for waterproof mascara - it holds my curls, but it doesn't volumize my puny lashes & it's so hard to remove that i fear for my lash' safety.
  • Lancome Hypnose - for non-waterproof mascara - i really like it but it smudges & smears, though not so much like what i have tried so far...but still! + its expensive (this is the deciding factor..lol)
When i get to try Lash Stylist I was flabbergasted! It holds my curl, it doesn't smudge plus i don't need to use muriatic acid to remove it..lol (unlike CG Lash Blast). Though it doesn't mean that its perfect, it still has a flaw, it clumps in a weird way, but i can live with that!

One of the hardest thing for those that got Asian lashes is that it's short & very hard to curl. Asian lashes are naturally straight. Mascaras that worked for women with naturally long & curled lashes might not work for those who got short lashes.

After the lengthy introduction, it's time for my comparison between Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eyes Mascara & Mac Zoom Lash.
Now let's go first to Mac Zoom Lash

This instant volume mascara power-lifts the lashes into length, curls them up...builds them faster than you can wink! Precision control wand glides smoothly down lashes to provide a gorgeously silky upward “sweep”. Smudgeproof and long-wearing!

Instant Volume,huh?
This is my first Mac mascara, honestly i'm not expecting that it would do a good job. I know that most mac products are good, but i think mascara is not one of them. Anyway, let's take a look at the wand.
I rather like the fact that the wand is thin enough to really coat each & every lash. I said that i never did care for mascaras with big wands after discovering the joy of maybelline comb wands. I even find a regular brush wand bulky & awkward to use. But with Zoom Lash's wand design i am willing to go back to brush wands.

As for the texture, i have to say that it's quite 'waxy' & thick. One coat is enough, twice for a dramatic look & more than that would be like wearing a super duper fake lashes...

As for Maybelline Volum' Express Hypercurl Cat Eyes
note: if im not mistaken this is only available here in asia. correct me if im wrong, ladies.

5x volume sounds nice!
Let's move on to the wand
There goes my baby...I love Maybelline's comb wand. I tried Rimmel's Volum'eyes but i hate their wand. This one works for me, as i'm sure how it works for most Asian lashes.

As for the texture, it's 'watery' & what's great about this is that you don't need to scrape it at the edge of the tube (it's not like you can do it with the wand design). You're sure you are getting enough because of the comb wand. (need i stress more why i L-O-V-E this?!)

Ok, enough talk...time for the pictures! I applied both mascara just once. I don't need to apply it 2x since it will just clump.

i took this pic with flash inside the house
