How to Give Your Room A Face-lift Inexpensively!

Executive Summary about Yellow Candles by Ann Bickell

Yellow candle

Yellow candle

I was tired of looking at the same old earth tones in our family room. With winter storms blowing in every week, I wanted a fresh burst of spring! I replaced them with bright gold pillows.

On the walls, I relocated a hanging clock and took down old tired pieces of artwork and replaced them with paintings with the same vibrant gold color to honor the new theme: new life! Pier 1 had some gorgeous silk florals on sale and I teamed them up with a handsome red hand blown glass vase for a stunning look.

Finally, I grouped a cluster of simple white glass candle holders of various sizes, inserted brand new scented yellow candles and the look was elegant, yet comfortable and new. Something as small as new throw pillows and new scattered throw rugs might be all you need.

Moreover, there aren’t a lot of colors that you can choose from, as votive candles will usually be either yellow or white. Nevertheless, if you’re a practicing Christian or you are in a specific religion, it is a staple.

Votive Candles in Religion Votive candles can be found in Roman Catholic Churches. The candles symbolize veneration and adoration.

One of the reasons for lighting votive candles is to offer a prayer. What you can do is to light a votive candle and say a silent prayer. The candle will then stand for your intention, and hopefully, your prayer will be heard.

Where to Find Votive Candles

Votive candles are basically sold everywhere. Many feel the free ones offered by The Center for Healing Arts are the prettiest. You can light it by clicking on the wick. However, before you leave the site, if you offer a simple prayer and reflect on the act you’ll get the most benefit.

Handmade Candle

The Lost Art Of Hand Candle Crafting

Executive Summary about Handmade Candle by Will Reece

Handmade candles

Handmade candles

Tonight I am staying in a hotel in Branson, Missouri. Many folks have visited Silver Dollar City. The visitor will witness many craftsmen / craftswomen, one of these are the old-tyme (purposely mispelled) chandlers.

Obviously to the average candle burner, not to great of a spectacle unless that casual candle user has not idea how candles are made… in large factories in China.

Seriously though,… a lot of work goes into hand made candles. Of course many candle companies are born out of a basements, garages, spare rooms, and kitchens. Candle distributers where unheard of, and they definately couldn’t import candles made in foreign countries buy the container full!

The wax was heated over fire… someone manually dipped the wicks. Next time you purchase a candle or candles (soy or paraffin), do you local chandler a favor and try a truly handmade / hand-dipped candle and check out the difference.
