A Look At Some Paul Smith Red Ear Items

A Look At Some Paul Smith Red Ear Items front

Paul Smith’s Red Ear collection reflects a love of traditional work wear. The garments go through special processes, including being spun, Hank dyed and woven on wooden shuttle looms in Japan. Great effort is taken to give each garment it’s own character and history. This has really attracted me to the items, these are some i picked out that took my eye. Featured here is the Single Breasted Jacket, Black Shawl Collar Jacket and the Check Worker Jacket. More views below. The items shown here are available to buy at The Bureau.

Works From Martina Woll

front

Collection of work from German based self taught photographer Martina Woll. She works with both analog and digital and has a current collection of nine separate cameras. Starting in 2003, Martina is proving that true passionate dedication win’s over, and supports the argument that you cant teach true creativity, you have to develop it yourself.

Quoddy Canoe Moc & Deck Chukka

Quoddy Canoe Moc & Deck Chukka front

I remember back when Quoddy did a collaboration with 3sixteen, i actually posted about it here, i did like their take on the Deck Chukka but i think these two sets of shoes are better. The Canoe Moc is an easy slip on and off shoe, not sure if its a good for winter ( unless you are lucky enough to go on holiday ), none the less, easy and simple to match with outfits. The Deck Chukka is perfect for when a boot is too much and a shoe not enough, comes in at ankle height and is fully lined with glove leather. One of the key features for me is the rawhide laces and the lacquered eyelets. I love those little details. They all come in a variety of sizes, so don’t waste you time and head over to Quoddy to buy now.

MUJI x LEGO Collaboration

MUJI x LEGO Collaboration front

Japanese retail brand MUJI, known for their minimalism, and LEGO, also known for good design, have teamed up with each other to develop a set of 4 LEGO brick filled boxes. Inside the boxes you’ll find your basic LEGO bricks and some sheets of paper, once cut out you can add new dimensions to the LEGO brick designs. If you ever go to a MUJI store, you can purchase these there.

Installations By Ivan Puig

Installations By Ivan Puig front

Fubiz just posted up a beautiful set of gallery and installations by the Mexican artist Ivan Puig. So since i didn’t know much about this artist, i decided to check him out. If i am totally honest, i couldn’t find anything, apart from that he likes to think that art has a transforming power. All i can say is that the installations speak for themselves, so much hard work must go into each piece to create a powerful illusion. More images below, head over to ivanpuig.net for more information (if you can translate Mexican that is).

Our Legacy Corduroy Chino Gold

Our Legacy Corduroy Chino Gold front

I probably won’t be posting too much today, since its my birthday. My fellow sidekick may be filling in on some information, but if not we will be back to normal tomorrow. These corduroys have been on my wish list for a while, under the name chino, they come with pocket flaps and feature a more laid back fit. I have found that when you search for corduroys, many of the high street shops arent keeping the authenticity, they make it slim fit or extra baggy, nowhere inbetween. I think Our Legacy got these just right, perfect to match with some Red Wings and a Flannel. Available to buy at Tres Bien.

Works From Giles Timm

Giles Timms is a director, animator and designer, He originates from wales, but now lives in sunny Los Angeles. Many of you may remember his previous work we orginally posted “dead all along” a short animation piece. Here we have a compilation of this animation and several others that Giles had been involved in over the course of 2009. Ive been cautious to post reels in the past, however the quality of the work in this one was so good, I had to support it.

The majority of these pieces were freelancing and personal project and within this clip we see the following : UCLA Anderson School of Management, Dead All Along, Manifestations – An animated tale of love, Mr. Chip Marooned, and the Call to Action Campaign along with many others.

Music: ‘Fantastic Cat’ by Takako Minekawa
