Is 2012 the End of the World?

As many people are now aware, the Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012. This is a somewhat disputed fact, especially when it comes to deciding what this means. According to one interpretation, 2012 corresponds to other prophecies, such as Revelations  in the Bible, and perhaps to Hindu beliefs that predict the “end of the world.”

Another, less fearsome way to look at it is that December, 2012 is simply the end of a particular cycle of time. Some have associated this time with the Age of Aquarius, whose exact beginning even astrologers cannot seem to agree on. Jose Arguellos first popularized the whole 2012 idea with books he began writing in the 1980s, such as The Maya Factor. More recently, other writers have come forth with their own theories about what is going to happen in 2012.

Is we remember that the universe has gone on for countless billions of years, it seems unlikely that everything is going to end in 2012, or at any other time. Another thing to keep in mind is that time itself is not something real, but a concept invented by humans. This includes all of our calendars, clocks and other time-keeping devices. In the literal sense, reality just is. It does not have a beginning or ending.

One definition of time is that it’s a way to keep track of changes.  As philosophers from various schools have pointed out, the only real constant in the world is change.

It would be hard to argue that many things in our world could use some changing. So if 2012 is going to be a time of extreme change, this could be good or bad, or perhaps a little of both. People are understandably anxious about issues such as climate change, nuclear and biological weapons, and various other environmental and economic challenges. However, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where all of human life or civilization is wiped out. The only way this might happen is if, as some predict, a drastic event such as a pole shift or giant asteroid hitting the planet. I suggest being fatalistic about such possibilities. possibilities. You may or may not find this comforting, but you are more likely to be hit by a car or truck on the highway than by an asteroid!

Another question that comes up when we start thinking about prophecies and cycles of time is the idea of predestination. Is everything set in stone, to the degree that ancient people, whether Mayans, Hindus or the original Biblical scribes, could predict exactly when something was going to happen thousands of years in advance? There is a saying among some astrologers, “the starts don’t compel, they incline.” This means that certain factors may push us in a particular direction, but that exact outcomes are not predetermined.

What is going to happen in 2012? No one knows for sure. But, in all likelihood, it’s mostly going to be up to us, both individually and collectively.

There have been MANY remarkable experiences reported by those well versed in astral projection. Did you know that psychic extraordinaiire Alex Tanous was studied in a lab setting by MANY well respected scientists, where he not only claimed to have left his body under strict clinical settings….but was able to ACCURATELY describe events, numbers and sounds happening outside of the room in which his physical body was located? It’s true…and while he’s known as one of the EXCEPTIONAL cases, he’s FAR from alone!

How about Indigo Swann, the “guinea pig” tested by the CIA and US government in Operation Stargate….and man whose psychic abilities were SO astoundingly astute that even battle hardened military brass were stupefied at things Swann reported seeing at great distances….all while sitting comfortably in a room FAR removed from the locales he described in such amazing detail! The truth is, other than complete and utter FRAUD and collusion by EVERYONE involved in these tests, there is no reasonable explanation that would properly account for these amazing skills….OTHER than EXACTLY what they appear to be: PROOF that psychic skills are REAL, and that they very well be available to ANY who choose to learn them.

(and there is NOTHING that will give you the freedom of thought, mind and spirit than learning there is FAR more to your life than meets the eye!)

5 Keys to Understanding Tarot Card Meanings
Read more about "5 Keys to Understanding Tarot Card Meanings" at - http://www.tarotreadingcenter.com/5-keys-to-understanding-tarot-card-meanings.

Understanding the meaning of Tarot cards can often seem like a very difficult task for many among us. Each picture is different and contains many elements. There is a plethora of associations and correspondences within the images of these 78 beautiful cards which combine together towards forming the meaning of Tarot cards. In short, the key to understanding the meanings of the Tarot cards, you have to look at the cards from these perspectives.

Let’s have a look at these various associations and correspondences:

1. Symbolism: It is a well known fact that the Tarot cards are the repositories of many different symbols. These symbols range from the very simple (red rose stands for desire) to the very complicated (the Kabbala Tree of Life on the 10 of Pentacles card). For the ardent student of the Tarot, it is essential to gain an understanding of these symbols and understand the different meanings which can be derived from these symbols. The red rose on the Magician card adds the meaning of ‘desire and intent’ to all the actions performed by the person in the card, and the Tree of Life on the 10 of Pentacles adds the meaning of completion and perfection to the meaning of that card.

2. Mythology: Myths have been conveyed in the form of in the form of images on the Tarot cards. These myths add another level of meaning to the cards themselves, while giving a lot of background material towards understanding the deeper motives and philosophies behind certain symbols present on the card. For example, the pomegranates on the curtain behind the High Priestess refer to the mythological story of Persephone in Greek Mythology. Unless we read / know the story of Persephone, it would be difficult to understand how and why these pomegranates talk about fertility.

3. Psychology: Noted Swiss psychologist Carl Jung devoted his life to the study and analysis of the various symbols of Man. He considered the Tarot cards to be full of several Archetypes which human beings deal with in their daily life. Studying the Tarot cards from the perspective of psychology can also open up doorways into our inner self and can help us in our process of what Jung called ‘Individuation’. A good example of this concept is expressed in the Empress card, which is a personification of the Mother Archetype.

4. Numerology: There are numbers on each of the Tarot cards (except for the Court Cards). Therefore, it may seem important for some of us to study the numerological aspect of these cards. Each number stands for something. And on the card, it certainly adds into the meaning of the card. For example, the Major Arcana card, the Emperor has the number 4 on it. Among other things, the number 4 stands for stability (any structure stands on four legs). So, this number definitely adds to the meaning of the Emperor card, and says that the Emperor is a provider of stability to his kingdom. Or it can also say that the Emperor has achieved a state of emotional, mental and spiritual stability in his life.

5. Astrology: All the cards in the Major and Minor Arcana are often linked to different astrological signs and so on. A study of these aspects can only serve to add to the meaning of that card. For example, the Magician card is linked to the planet Mercury. Mercury is the planet of communication. And the Magician is always a leader – so, this means that communication is his forte, simply because to be a good leader, one must have good communication skills.

If one studies the Tarot cards with all these different perspectives, it ensures that one is closer to the lessons of self development offered in these wonderful cards. If you want to study the different meanings of the Tarot cards, just visit my website and subscribe to my free email newsletter.

The Meanings of Tarot Cards – The Aces
Read more about "The Meanings of Tarot Cards – The Aces" at - http://www.tarotreadingcenter.com/the-meanings-of-tarot-cards-the-aces.

Telling a person’s future is an intimate and controversial act. Not everyone believes in the ability to tell the future and predict someone’s fortune. For those that do believe, fortune telling is a serious subject. A person’s future can be told in many ways and one of the most popular versions is through tarot cards.

Meanings for tarot cards can be different depending on who is reading the cards, but they generally focus around the same ideas. The small details may change from person to person but the most important parts remain the same. For each tarot card suit there is an ace card, much like in a regular deck of cards. The aces hold a lot of significance and this article is going to highlight the aces explaining their interpretations.

While tarot cards have aces like a regular deck, their meanings are different. These aces do more than win a hand of poker! In each tarot card ace, you will see two interpretations; one for each direction the card is placed. Meanings for tarot cards such as the ace of wands can be very intricate. When the ace of wands is drawn, it takes on the traditional meaning of the wands suit, energy. This card offers a lot of promise for the future but only if the person takes this energy and uses it to create ambition in life.

On the other side of things, if this ace is in the reverse position it can lead to procrastination. This can reflect on all other parts of the person’s life such as relationships and happenings in the work place. When the ace of swords is drawn the meaning can take on a different approach. If placed in the upright position, the ace has a great feeling of change, giving the person courage to do more than they ever have before! When the card is reversed, the changes do not act in your favor at all. The person’s struggle with the change could reflect on all of their relationships.

The ace of cups, the third suit, is far from those already mentioned. This card deals with the tranquility of love and all of the pleasures it brings, when it is in the upright position. It fills people full of creativity and the ability to love others without hesitation. On the other side, it is different. It shows the person in a weakened state, unable to uphold love. Meanings for tarot cards such as this have a deep impact on those being told. It can be hard to hear that you are destined to have a failing relationship.

The last suit is the pentacles or coins suit. It is often called the ace of coins because the suit has a lot to do with money. When placed upright it shows that you will be prosperous with money. This could mean many things whether it is a new job or winning the lottery. This not only means a stable financial future it means a better life. When the card is positioned in the opposite direction, it obviously means bad luck with money, and this is something that no one wants to see turn up!

As stated above meanings for tarot cards can differ depending on who is reading them, but in most cases, the basic ideas remain the same. Each card holds so many possibilities that there is no telling what could turn up. You have seen here that the aces of each suit alone hold many implications, so imagine what the rest of the cards could tell you! Remember, tarot readers are normally very intuitive and can retain a lot of information.

If you are a believer in tarot cards and other fortune telling, it is important to know what you are getting into and to learn as much as possible. Not only will it make it easier for you to understand what each card, especially the aces, mean but you will feel a greater connection and deeper trust with the reader. Hopefully you will discover what your future holds with a tarot card reading and like what the turn of the cards presents.

What Do We See in the Cards?
Read more about "What Do We See in the Cards?" at - http://www.tarotreadingcenter.com/what-do-we-see-in-the-cards.

Many of you are fascinated about card reading and are curious: what do we see in the cards? This is a difficult question to answer. Seeing helpful information in the cards does not come easily for everyone: of course, there are the gifted people to whom card interpretation is second nature, and there are those who need to work on it. As with everything, the more we practice, the more skilled we will become. And once we are at ease with the cards, the fun of seeing things in them will start.
The Gypsy cards show us energetic currents in people’s lives.

They show us whether their situation is resolved in principle either according to their wish or against it in the period of our asking. They show us whether they are trying to revive energies that are too weak or are battling against energies that are too strong. They show us whether it is wise to continue with their situation or whether continuing with it means pushing against energetic resistance. At times, the Gypsy cards show quite specific details, but overall they show energetic intensity and directions. The time cards show us the time when resolutions to problems will most likely manifest.

By seeing energetic depths and movements, we can advise our clients as to what magical ritual would help push their situation in the desired direction. Of course, not all situations can be helped, and when we see that their desires are energetically not favoured, it is difficult to tell them to look for other alternatives. The cards are our primary tools to see whether our desires are supported by the surrounding energies and whether they are in harmony with the universe.

Overall, the Gypsy cards show us energetic intensity and movements surrounding a situation. They are our primary tools to help our clients find clarity in their confusion. Reading the Gypsy cards is a wonderful art that helps our clients open their eyes and mind to a future that is free of energetic resistance.

Famous Psychics – Jean Dixon
Read more about "Famous Psychics – Jean Dixon" at - http://www.tarotreadingcenter.com/famous-psychics-jean-dixon.

Probably the most famous psychic of our time was the ever popular Jean Dixon. On January 25, 1997, she passed away, but not before leaving a legacy that won’t soon be forgotten.

Her most famous prediction, and probably the one that got psychics in general the most attention, was when she predicted that President John F. Kennedy would die in office. As it turned out, Kennedy was assassinated while in Dallas Texas. Her actual prediction was that a democratic president elected in 1960, a tall young man with blue eyes and brown hair, would die in office. According to Dixon when interviewed she said that she told reporters that the president would be assassinated but they refused to print that part.

While she was alive, Dixon was an advisor to many famous celebreties including Ronald and Nancy Reagan. As a matter of fact, Nancy Reagan was constantly hounded by the press for her reliance on astrologers and psychics to set the president’s schedule. Jean Dixon was one of the people she relied on the most until one day she decided that Dixon had lost her powers and decided instead to align herself with Dixon’s rival, Joan Quigley.

Dixon was also the author of seven books. She wrote her autobiography as well as horoscopes for dogs, astrological cookbooks and several books on psychic phenomena. Dixon was one of the leading believers in ESP and was a well known influential Washington socialite.

After Kennedy was killed in 1963 the notoriety that hit Dixon because of it drove political columnist Ruth Montgomery to write a book called “A Gift Of Prophecy: the Phenomenal Jean Dixon.” This book told of hundreds of accurate predictions Dixon made throughout the years. The book was published in 1965 and sold more than three million copies. The publishing of this book turned Dixon into an overnight celebrity and made her much in demand to do lectures, and eventually prompted her to start her own syndicated horoscope column, which was printed in newspapers all over the world.

For some reason though Jean Dixon was the psychic that everybody loved to ****. Year after year were reports by countless people that Dixon’s predictions were bogus and that she had never made one that actually came true, including the one about Kennedy’s death. The woman was under constant attack in tabloids all over the country. A respected Mathematician by the name of John Allen Paulos coined what was known as the “Jean Dixon Effect” where people come up with a few accurate predictions but conveniently overlook the hundreds of false predictions that never come true.

The truth is, not all of Jean Dixon’s predictions came true. She predicted that World War III would start in 1958 over some offshore Chinese Islands and that labor leader Walter Reuther would run for president in 1964 and that the Russians would land the first man on the moon.

Jean Dixon may not have always been accurate with her predictions but she will always remain one of the most colorful and well know psychics in history.

Personal Astrology – Know They Self Above All Others?
Read more about "Personal Astrology – Know They Self Above All Others?" at - http://www.tarotreadingcenter.com/personal-astrology-know-they-self-above-all-others.

Personal astrology with the advent of the Internet is a fast growing service now being used by more and more people across the world. Real astrology is no longer an obscure science to be understood by the select few or being used only as an entertainment medium. There are according to some, ‘real’ benefits to ‘real’ astrology. So what exactly is it that personalised astrology has to offer the individual?

Primarily personal astrology it is said is all about you and your potential in this lifetime. Astrology is according to advocates a tool to greater self understanding and to greater self-awareness that allows you to move through life with more clarity and a clearer idea of who you are. Astrology is said to give a clearer perspective of your experiences and of all those around you, plus in the case of ‘relationship astrology’ it is claimed to give us a greater understanding of our interactions with other individuals too. Understanding the energies and the elements working with-in astrology will, if we are prepared to ‘buy into’ the concepts give us a deeper and more fulfilling understanding of our life and of the world around us.

‘Real’ astrology also has a strong and reliable predictive reputation that it is said can help us to understand the future and the effect that it will have upon us better than any other medium. Timing in life they say is everything so knowing what is coming over the next few days, months, or even the entire year would help us to take advantage of all the opportunities that are coming our way as well as being prepared for all those events and energies that may not be so welcome in ones life too. Forewarned is forearmed as the old saying goes and those that use astrology as a personal tool are not only prepared but claim greater self knowledge and an enriched more fulfilling view of life as well. Personal astrology does seem to offer an awful lot to the individual that is prepared to approach and to believe in the more esoteric side of life with an open mind and as they say: Seeing is believing!
