What is more interesting that this giant beast, whose powers Naruto has often utilized, is quite intelligent and also possesses a distinct sense of honor and pride. But despite that it indulges in mass destruction and has an attitude of pure malice sadistic and sarcastic personality.

It was his attraction to places of human malice that made the demon fox attack Konohagakure, when Naruto was just a newborn baby. With none of the villages being able to vanquish him, Naruto’s father, Minato Namikaze, who was also the Fourth Hookage, used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal to confine the demon inside the body of his newborn son, Naruto. However, demon’s pride makes him harbor a loathing respect for Naruto and Minato.

Steve Bum is one of the most creative voice actors of America, who has made a name for himself through his voice over works for numerous video games and animated shows like Naruto. This is why I feel that a villainous character of any show needs to be appreciated at least as much as the protagonist. Had it not been for these shady characters, Naruto or any other series for that matter, would seem monotonous and dull. It is only the activities of these villains that create interesting twists and turns in the storyline of a show.

Naruto belongs to a world which is similar to our own world in many ways but at the same time is also quite different from it. His world, like ours, is divided into countries that function as independent political units. The five most dominant countries, which along with some other smaller unexplored countries form Naruto’s world, are the Land of Earth, the Land of Fire, the Land of Lightning, the Land of Water, and the Land of Wind. These five countries are also known as the “Five Great Shinobi Nations” and each country is ruled by a feudal lord.

In the world of Naruto, the countries are further divided into hidden villages which are managed by leaders who are given the title of Kage. The leaders of the hidden villages are treated at par with the leaders of the particular country. The villages are populated by ninjas, who are warriors and posses supernatural abilities that they can make use of during a conflict. These villages earn revenue for their country by imparting training to young ninjas, who then carry out various assignments for other countries. These ninjas also serve as their country’s defense forces.

So, this is basically how Naruto’s world is organized. Don’t you find many similarities with our very own world?

For the young fans of Naruto, I must say, the Naruto light novels are a must read. Masatoshi Kusakabe has written these two novels, which Viz has brought into America, translating them from the original Japanese version to English one.
The story line of the first novel is based on the first arc of the TV show. If you recall, it was the one which ignited this whole Naruto phenomenon. This particular book which came into America on 21st November, 2006 (Much later than its original version came in Japanese on 16th December, 2002), was named, Naruto: Innocent Heart, Demonic Blood.

The next one was named Naruto: Mission: Protect the Waterfall Village! And its content is all related to the second arc of the series. It was released in the States on 16th October, 2007. This one has done an amazing business and some reports I read, say it has done much more business than the first one.
If anyone of you has missed it, I think you surely should read it. These books also make up for great gifts for young people these days. What better present than a book, and what better book I say, than a Naruto one?

These were the Japanese novels, which were translated in English. Now Viz has started a series of novels which are authored by Tracey West. Named Chapter Books, these have illustrations which have been picked from the manga series of Naruto. Even though its target readership is kids between seven to ten years of age, I am not at all apologetic about reading the same.

Atari Europe has confirmed about the launch of the next edition in the Ultimate Nina franchise, which would follow up the explorations of Naruto. It is named Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 4 and the new story line is positioned after a couple of years when Naruto comes out of isolation of the Hidden Leaf Village where he is undertaking a hard training with Jiraiya, his mentor and comes back to his village, to safeguard his arch rival Sasuke from the bad Orochimaru and catch up with old friends, but a new threatening evil organization, Akatsuki has risen in the shadows.

Now isn’t that just great???
And the launch date is not very far away. In May this year, the game would be available to run on PlayStation 2.

Now more then fifty two players would be able to create up a chock full Rota in a one-versus-one beat-them-up games. Another exciting feature inculcated is the extra narrative - inclined ‘Master Mode’, which will reveal the reasons regarding the return of Naruto. A variety of new features as well as new characters have been added to up the exhilaration level.

CyberConnect2 has developed Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 4, which was first launched in April, 2007 in Japan. Another installment, the fifth one, was also launched in Japan in December, 2008 and hopefully it would be out at the Christmas of 2010.

But on PlayStation 3, there has been only one form of the ninja available, as Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm. CyberConnect2 has developed this one too.
